This Mystery Model is really a treat. The topic should not come as a surprise. What is clear from the photographs is the manifest quality of the kit. Can you identify the name of the ship, scale of model and name of manufacturer? Please post all answers to the message board. Pieter Cornelissen was the first to identify the kit as the HMS Royal Sovereign from Combrig in 1:700 scale. He even identified that the model reflected the post 1903-1904 refit in which the secondary guns had casemates built around their positions. Originally they were open mounts with gun shields. This kit is a Toe Curler, ie exquisite. Now if only White Ensign Models would produce some Royal Navy photo-etch to go with the time period. We will need it for Royal Sovereign and others.
