Walkaround of the Georgios Averoff

LCDR Charles Landrum, USN, graciously shares the photographs that he took of the Greek Armored Cruiser, Georgios Averoff. Commander Landrum visited the cruiser twice, once in 1986 and the second time in 1994. Having seen the review of the YS Master Pieces 1:350 kit of the Averoff (click for review),he wished to share his tour of the only armored cruiser still in existence. The older USS Olympia, preserved at Philadelphia and the Russian cruiser, Aurora, preserved in Saint Petersburg are also from this period but they are protected cruisers. Averoff, launched in 1910 was one of the last of her type to be built.
