Here are some pictures of my IJN Heavy Cruiser Furutaka, as she appeared before her loss at the Battle of Cape Esperance. The kit is the excellent Blue Water Navy kit in 1/350th scale. I used a set of plans from Pacific Front Hobbies for the final touches.

In addition to the kit parts, I used some photo-etch from the GMM Yamato set, and some additional bits from the IJN Akizuki PE set included in that Blue Water Navy kit (See a pattern here?). The rigging is one and two pound test fishing line. The photos were taken with a Fujifilms Finepix 4900. This kit took 1st place at the 2002 Nationals and Best Naval Subject & Best in Show at the Region 2 show.
