The Imperial Russian battleship Retvizan was built at the Cramp Yard in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She and the French built Tsarevitch, were the two best units of the First Pacific Squadron based at Port Arthur in large measure because they were the newest.. With the opening of the Russo-Japanese War at the end of January 1904, the ships of the squadron had been painted in an olive green made up of a blend of black and yellow ochre paints on hand. This is the Combrig 1:700 scale Retvizan, built by Andrey Veslivy and painted in her olive war colors.
