These are photographs my model of the HMCS Stratford. The model is entirely scratch-built in 1:192 scale. The hull is a resin copy of my master, which was made from balsa wood and covered with sheet plastic plating. Everything else is made from bits of plastic, brass and resin. The pilot house is entirely open . The railing and stairways are from Gold Medal Models Photo-Etch in 1:192 scale. The Rock Island Lighthouse is also entirely scratch-built and is a resin copy of my master as well. The HMCS Stratford was a Bangor Class minesweeper/convoy escort built in Toronto in 1942. Upon completion it sailed down the St. Lawrence River to assume convoy escort duty in Halifax. On the way she passed Rock Island Lighthouse in Fisher's Landing NY.
