Fairly extensive additions were made to the kit based on US Navy photos obtained from the Mariner's Museum. The awning supports were added, made from brass rod stock. The parts were mounted to the hull and soldered by resistance soldering. Additional supports for the boat racks were fabricated from brass square stock, and the boat booms, of brass rod stock were added. The kit resin mast and booms were replaced with brass rod parts. The awnings were fabricated from eyeglass cleaning tissue, which was painted white and stiffened with dull coat.
