Red Banner Northern Fleet

This section contains unclassified reconnaissance photographs of the warships of the Soviet Union, taken from various NATO sources. The section is broken into various types of warships, with different classes being listed under their type. Photographs are from the collection of Mark Meredith.

Naval Aviation Admiral Gorshkov- Originally the Baku, the Admiral Gorshkov was the fourth member of the Kiev Class CVHG. This one-off ship had extensive modifications in order to test systems for the following class.

Rocket Cruisers Kirov Class - The largest of the RKR Soviet Rocket Cruisers were the four ships of the Kirov Class. The included photographs show Kirov, which was different from the other three and the subsequent ships. There is an especially good sequence of photographs of the Frunze.
