I am an Italian mining engineer and I have been a modeler since my early days. I discovered the site recently and the old love for ship models immediately caught me again. Actually it has been like opening a window on a world that was much wider than I ever had believed. In the past I built many plastic model kits, but I did not know about the availability of so many detail parts on the market, starting from the photo-etched railings. I immediately tried to apply the new concepts and this is my first attempt: a detailed version of the USS Olympia from the well known 1:230 scale Revell kit.
