These
are some photos taken of Trumpeter's
1:350 scale CV-8 Hornet.
I am new to model ships and I was not sure whether 1:350 or 1:700 "was for
me". I first built Tamiya's
CA-35
Indianapolis
in 1:700 scale using Tom's Modelworks
photo-etch and I have to say I really enjoyed it! Then when Trumpeter
released their 1:350 kit of Hornet
I couldn't wait to get started on it. That was almost two years ago, and I have
only just finished it, although I was working on other models at the same time.
I "went to town" with White
Ensign Models photo-etch sets for this one. Steve Wiper’s book "Yorktown
Class Carriers" photo album was an invaluable reference. I know
some modelers find flat-tops boring, but I don't share that view! So many thanks
to Trumpeter, WEM,
Classic Warships Publishing and all others that make this such an
enjoyable pastime!
